The official FAQ confirms the 11-day August 28-September 7 run. The fair takes place at Fonner Park. For driving, the organizer’s west-entrance address is 700 East Stolley Park Road, Grand Island, NE 68801; the east entrance uses 1203 South Stuhr Road. These are arrival addresses, distinct from the administration office on East Fonner Park Road.

The FAQ lists gates opening at 7 a.m., but that does not mean every attraction opens then. The 2026 hours page lists the Nebraska Building at 9 a.m.-9 p.m. through September 6, closing at 7 p.m. on Labor Day. The 4-H and FFA static exhibits run 9 a.m.-8 p.m., with an earlier 5 p.m. close on the final day.

For an exhibit-heavy visit, choose an arrival around the buildings you want to see. For a ride-focused outing, check carnival operation separately. Avoid saving every indoor exhibit for the last evening, when the closing schedule may shorten your options.

2026 tickets and discount days

The official pricing page lists regular gate admission at $12 for ages 13-59, $6 for ages 60 and older, and $6 for ages 6-12. Children 5 and younger enter free.

The 2026 parking guide confirms free visitor parking and a free Sam’s Club shuttle from 1510 North Diers Avenue. Buses start at 9 a.m., leaving Sam’s Club hourly and the fair on the half hour.

The fair stop is Gate 5A by the 4-H/FFA Building. Operating windows end at 10:30 p.m. August 28-September 3, 11:30 p.m. September 4-6, and 7:30 p.m. September 7. Confirm the final departure direction with staff.

Trams have designated stops and ADA lifts. Kiosk volunteers can request courtesy golf carts, but these generally stay inside the gates rather than returning guests to cars.

Three food stops to put on your route

The current official vendor directory identifies specific stands and locations, which is more useful for planning than a generic carnival-food list:

Mobility rentals, sensory spaces, and accessible visits

The official Accessibility Guide identifies free accessible parking at the Main Gate off South Locust and at Gate 6 off Fonner Park Road. HomeTown Mobility supplies rentals at the Main Gate and ADA Parking Gate; confirm reservation availability and collection details before traveling.

The guide lists the Blue Gems sensory room in Room 5 of the Bosselman Conference Center, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, plus sensory-kit checkout at the Welcome Center. For ASL concert seating, the guide asks visitors to arrange seating at least 14 days ahead; contact the box office about any remaining options for a shorter-notice visit.

Fair-Tastic Friday on September 4 adds a resource fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and a lower-sensory carnival period from 1-3 p.m. Carnival participation requires a wristband. The published advance-registration deadline was August 15, so do not assume the associated half-price registration offer is still available.

For your own access plan, identify the entrance, equipment collection point, and first rest stop together. If you need an interpreter, a particular seating location, or help with a transfer, ask about that specific need before buying. A general statement that a venue is accessible does not answer every practical question.

A workable first-visit itinerary

For an exhibit-and-food day, start with the current map and choose a compact sequence of stops. Keep a separate time for a scheduled show or performance, then leave the rest of the afternoon adjustable.
