State Fair Scout

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information State Fair Scout receives, why it is used, and how advertising, analytics, forms, and affiliate links affect visitors.

Find a Fair

Information you choose to send

When you use the contact form or email State Fair Scout, the site may receive your name, email address, message, fair name, source links, and any other information you choose to include. This information is used to answer inquiries, investigate corrections, review official updates, and protect the form from spam or abuse. Do not send payment details, account passwords, medical records, or other sensitive information.

Contact-form submissions may be processed by the site’s WordPress form and email services and may be retained long enough to answer the request, document a correction, or meet security and legal needs.

Hosting, security, and analytics data

The web host, WordPress, security tools, and caching services may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referral page, date and time, and error or security events. State Fair Scout also uses Google Analytics through Site Kit to understand aggregate traffic and improve navigation and content. These services may use cookies or similar storage technologies.

Analytics is used to understand patterns such as popular guides, device categories, and navigation paths. It is not used by State Fair Scout to create profiles containing sensitive personal information.

Google advertising

State Fair Scout may use Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and prior visits to this or other websites to select, measure, limit, and report ads. Ads may be personalized where permitted and where required consent has been provided.

Learn how Google uses information from sites and apps in Google’s partner-sites notice and advertising technology policy. Visitors can review ad personalization controls in My Ad Center. Browser settings and available consent controls can also be used to limit cookies, although parts of the site or advertising may then work differently.

Affiliate links and Sovrn Commerce

State Fair Scout uses Sovrn Commerce, also known as VigLink, which may automatically identify or convert eligible outbound links into affiliate links. Sovrn and participating merchants may process link clicks, referral information, device or browser data, IP address, and purchase or conversion information so commissions can be attributed and fraud can be prevented. A qualifying purchase may earn State Fair Scout a commission without changing the price paid by the reader.

See the Sovrn Privacy Policy for its current practices and available choices. External fair, ticketing, map, merchant, and vendor sites have their own privacy policies and are responsible for their own data practices.

Choices, retention, and questions

You may ask State Fair Scout to review or delete information that you submitted directly, subject to records needed for security, corrections, or legal obligations. Cookie controls are available through your browser and, where shown, the site’s consent interface. Advertising and analytics providers may offer additional opt-out tools.

This policy may change when services or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected by the date below. Privacy questions can be sent to sdeout73@msn.com or through the contact page.
